Security
ClearCart software was designed with security in mind, and we are constantly monitoring our servers to check for possible intrusions by hackers.
One of our commitments to security is that the ClearCart software never, under any circumstances, stores credit card information. When you take orders online with ClearCart, the credit card information from your customers is used only to authorize transactions. Once a transaction has been authorized, the credit card information is disposed of; it is never used again.
If you want to learn more about security, including PCI compliance, contact us, or talk with our representative at Authorize.Net, who can assure you that ClearCart meets all standards for PCI Compliance, as well as PA-DSS compliance.
SSL Certificates
ClearCart is a reseller of GeoTrust QuickSSL certificates. The reason we sell these certificates is that they are 99.9% compatible with web browsers. I.e., only .01% of browsers in use today would show any kind of non-recognition warning regarding these certificates.
What an SSL certificate provides for you is encryption of your web pages. If you buy a certificate from us, you can be assured that all critical pages--especially your checkout pages, etc., are encrypted. We use the highest level of encryption available -- 256-bit, for optimal security.
One of ClearCart's features, used by a small but growing percentage of our merchants, is to have ever single page on their web site--not just the checkout pages etc.--protected with SSL encryption. This is optional for you. It will slow down your web site slightly, but if absolute security is a must for you, then this is a viable option.
