Joel on Software – And old-timer on the blogging scene (blogging since 2000!), Joel Spolsky's blog is chock full of programming, software, business and hiring insights, delivered in Joel delicious New York voice, and illustrated with random photos of New York City scenes. Joel was one of the first blogs I ever read regularly, and one of the few which I continue to read regularly.

Ted: Ideas Worth Spreading – Throw away your television! Ted talks are much more interesting, and they're free. Every year, Ted Talks takes place in Long Beach, CA, and in Oxford. An invitation-only event, the talks draw the world's most fascinating inventors, artists, designers, poets, musicians and performers -- who are challenged to talk about whatever moves them -- in 18 minutes.
